Fall’s best destinations are waiting

Mountain air, city lights or somewhere new? There's still time to make your fall plans take flight with Alaska Airlines. With hundreds of destinations, you can celebrate autumn to the fullest. See the fall foliage in Boston, sip cider in Seattle, or swap your flannel for a swimsuit and head to Hawai‘i.

With nonstop routes to over 100 cities across North America and beyond, getting to your fall destination is easier than ever. Whether you're chasing changing leaves or year-round sunshine, Alaska’s growing network means more ways to reach where autumn is calling.

Fares at great prices, so it's easier than ever to say ‘yes’ to a getaway before the season's gone.

The question I get more than any other is some version of this: "We have a budget and a week off. Which resort should we actually book?" Most of the time the honest answer is "it depends," and that is not very helpful when there are hundreds of all-inclusives to choose from.

So we built something that answers it properly. It is called the Resort Matcher, it is free, and it is live on VacationPro right now.

How it works

1. Tell us about your trip. Your budget, who is going, your dates, and the kind of vacation you want. It takes about two minutes and you do not need an account.

2. Get up to three picks. A best overall, a best value, and an upgrade when the upgrade is actually worth the money. Each one comes with the tradeoff and who should skip it, because every resort has one.

3. Book your way. Check rates and book online yourself, or send it to me and I will quote it for you.

Built around what you actually care about

The matcher covers 662 all-inclusive resorts across 36 destinations in Mexico and the Caribbean. Instead of sorting by star rating or whoever paid for placement, it asks you to pick your top two priorities and ranks every resort around them: great beaches, great food, lively pools, quiet adults-only escapes, or real family fun.

That means a couple who wants a quiet beach and great restaurants gets a completely different shortlist than a family who wants a kids club and a swim-up bar, even at the same budget in the same destination.

Already know where you are going?

Jump straight to picks for your destination:

Riviera Maya and Tulum: 117 all-inclusives, from quiet boutique hideaways to the big family resorts.

Cancun and Costa Mujeres: 103 all-inclusives, the easiest flight from most of the US.

Punta Cana: 93 all-inclusives and some of the best value in the Caribbean.

Los Cabos: 37 all-inclusives where the desert meets the Pacific.

St. Lucia: 28 all-inclusives with the Pitons as your backdrop.

Montego Bay: 21 all-inclusives, including some of the best adults-only resorts anywhere.

Want a real person to check it?

I book trips as an independent travel advisor with Fora. Once the matcher gives you a shortlist, send me the resort you are leaning toward and I will personally check rates, room options, and any offers that are running for your dates, then help you book it.

Requesting a quote is free and does not commit you to anything.

One Thing To Know

Thinking about Cancun for the holidays? The first two weeks of December are dry season weather at shoulder season prices, with water around 81°F. Then rates jump sharply from about December 20 through New Year's. If your dates can move, early December is one of the best deals of the year. Here is what Cancun in December really looks like.
